Paver Project Checklist

Job Planning and Layout		Edge Restraints
	Check underground utility locations		Install edge restraints
	Estimate excavation		Check elevations of edge restraints
	Estimate:	Sand
	Base material Edge Restraint Sand Pavers Edge pavers, cutting		Check bedding and joint sand gradation
			Place and screed sand
		Pavers
	Plan material delivery, flow of materials, and equipment required		Pull or snap lines
			Place edge coursing
	Layout job on site: area to be paved, edges, access, material and equipment storage		Place laying pattern
			Cut and place edge units
Soil and Base			Compact pavers
	Excavate soil and unsuitable material		Remove defective units
	Compact soil		Fill joints with sand
	Measure soil compaction		Vibrate / compact joints sand
	Install drainage and site utilities as applicable		Check joints for fullness
	Install geosynthetics (fabrics/grids) as applicable		Remove excess sand
	Plan base material		Check surface elevation
	Measure base compaction		Clean and seal pavers as required
	Measure base elevations		Clean up site
